The ’87-’90 fender extension is longer than the ’91-’93. Will the splitter fit both?
For the ’91-’93 LX and GT/Cobra models, Ford shortened the length of the fender extension to accommodate the new 16-inch pony wheels. The difference is minor – about 3/4″ – but enough to create an impact on the fit of aftermarket parts. Because of the variation in design, and because we are obsessed with the details, there will actually be two different splitters created. You will be able to choose your model when placing your order.
Will the splitter work with my Saleen or Cervini’s Stalker bumper?
No. The splitter has been specifically tailored to fit the ’87-’93 GT/Cobra and ’87-’93 LX Foxbodys. The design, fit, and attachment points are unique to these cars, and we can’t guarantee it will work with other models.
How is the splitter mounted?
There are 19 attachment points for the splitters. Provided OEM style fasteners will go through the fascia (front bumper) and thread into 19 pre-installed U-nuts in the splitter.
On the GT/Cobra splitter, there are 4 additional attachment points for a custom aluminum bracket that attaches the underside of the splitter to the fog light bracket. This will reduce vibration and maintain secure fit.
There will be detailed installation instructions included, complete with illustrations and step-by-step guide for a fool-proof install.
